I bought a IEEE/USB 2.0 combo cardbus adapter for my my laptop so that i can connect the USB2.0 or IEEE peripherals. I bought this since my laptop is a old one and does not have the IEEE or USB 2.0 port. After inserting the card, the laptop recognized the card and showing in the device manager.
When i tried to connect the miniDV camcorder to laptop thru a IEEE cable (4pin-6pin), the laptop is not detecting input fromthe camcorder. Do i need to give external supply to the IEEE/USB combo card for this? The combo card does have a external jack for giving supply and the manufacturer indicated to use 5v DC supply for USB2.0 ports only. They didnt mentioned anything about the IEEE ports.
