If you're gaming at resolutions under 2560x1600 then that 1gb is a waste of money.
There isn't enough on screen until the super high resolutions to fill the vram.

don't get a 465, it offers pretty much the same performance or slightly worse than the 460 and will consume more power and run hotter.

there are both 768mb and 1gb models of the gtx 460 to choose from.

As muffin said DO NOT GET A 465, The 460 1Gig is a new design, gf104 vs gf100 and as said, cooler and all around better.
