so i reinstalled windows 7 on my second hard drive and after a week things seem ok, except i noticed that the temp sensor for my other drive which i had my os previously installed on completely disapeared from hard ware monitor but some times randomly shows up but with no temp under it. is this a sign that it could be dieing or not if so i guess its time to replace it.

It's a possibility, but if that's the only symptom then the drive may be perfectly fine other than a faulty temperature sensor. Run a chkdsk, see if it comes up with anything.

Edit: Just to make sure, did you install the latest chipset drivers when you installed the new OS? If not then the OS might not be communicating correctly with the hard drive.

yeah i did install all the new chip-set drivers. also the drive seems to run really slow when trying to open files and programs.

Have you run a chkdsk, like I said?
Open a command prompt (start menu, cmd, enter).
Type 'chkdsk' and press enter.
