~$550 autocad workstation needed

thats what i was going to ask. will a Quadro FX 580 be better in this case?

but you know what. i installed cad2010 on my machine and let my friend play with this, he was quite happy with its performance. my specs in my sign

ya of course a dedicated workstation gpu will be better, but he only has 550$ to spend. And, these days, gaming gpus are powerful enough to run most any 3d intensive application.

Power isn't the only factor, sometimes there is more of a "precision" when using cad like software at really high resolutions. -.-
