Hey this is my first build and i was just wondering if this will play most games at high settings. Any suggestions would be very helpful but, my budget is just around 1000 dollars, give or take a about 50 bucks.

Don't get the AMD 965, get the AMD 955 and increase the multiplier by one and you'll have a 965. It's very easy to do on BIOS.

You don't need a 1000W PSU, get this one instead:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

The AMD 955 or 965 uses dual channel so you should choose sets of RAM by multiples of two. 4GB is more than enough for the average user, if you need more you can always add more later on.

With that GPU you won't be playing games on high settings... you should be able to buy a better GPU with the money you save on my previous suggestions, like a ATI HD5850.
