I need it for work so I have no choice. Don't worry though I'll lay off the gaming until I get my fan.

I'm going to re-enable speedstep too so the CPU runs at a lower clock.

Then as soon as my sandpaper and rubbing alcohol arrives, I'm gonna lap the TRUE120 and CPU. Then install the fan straight after.

Keep monitoring your temps then, set an alarm to go off if temps get higher than 75C. Use realtemp or coretemp

Yep I've been monitoring them with RealTemp. CPU temps idling at ~40c which is normal. Never seen them go above 60, even after intense gaming (crysis, crysis warhead).

I think the TRUE120 is doing a decent job even without a fan.

Anyway, I'll be keeping a close eye on them, even after I lap and attach the fan!
