Upgrade problem

I recently upgraded (i should say rebuilt) my computer. Before i had Windows XP SP3 on a SATA hdd booting fine. Then I upgraded, and my computer will no longer boot. It would just go to the windows boot screen, then reboot and loop.

Specs before upgrade:

Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz OC'd to 3.1GHz
Biostar mobo
2 Gb ddr2 667 OC'd to 723
ATi Radeon HD 5770

Specs after upgrade

AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz
ASUS Mobo
2 gb DDR3 1066
Videocard is the same

I know, big jump. Should've reinstalled os. But, lost the disc

Help would be appreciated

You're going to need to get an XP disc and perform a repair install, as the OS is trying to load the incorrect hardware profile, and is BSOD'ing and throwing you into a reboot loop.

Mak would say the same thing.

You can't just switch an OS driver over to a new system and expect it to work flawlessly.

I didn't expect it to. Like I said, I don't have the xp install disk. Any other solutions?

Find a way to get one. You need the XP disc to perform a repair install.

XP is virtually obsolete. Save some money and upgrade to Win 7. You'll have less problems with things.
