wanting to OC 9600xt

just got the 9600xt and I was rather disappointed with my 3dmark03 score of just under 4000, and i do realize i only have a p4 2.4 (oc'd to 2.7) w/512mb RAM but geez, 4k?

so i have my card on the OVERDRIVE mode running @ 30c.

how far do you think i can go with it?

well hell looks like you got a ways to still push it if you're still running fairly cool. Just keep going until you see artifacts that's the general rule. And as long as you go by increments, watch your temps, and bump it down when you see artifacts I hear the chances of frying your graphics card from overclocking are slim. Go for it! Post back with results

by what increments should i go for each one though?

maximum of 3-5 mhz at a time.. and then restart and run 3dmark and aquamark.. if u run fine without artifacts or errors then go back and oc it a lil bit again... continue this proces until one of the tests either has an error or u start tosee artifacts

well, i got it up a ways but it really didn't help my scores much. lot of lag in the tests but no artifacts. don't know if it was cuz i was running at about 290mb of ram

oh, and my fill rate went down i think

Ive heard of some 9600's going up to 9800pro speeds w/out artifacts.
