ok here is an updated list of some hareware. what do you think?
Asus M4A785 TD motherboard
X6 AMD Processor
1 stick 4 Gb DDR3 RAM maybe 8
The hard drives from my comp i have now, the same case but a new 750 watt power supply
the case i have now is the antec 900 gaming case i assume i should keep it?

1 stick of 4 GB DDR3 RAM is expensive...
just go for 2 sticks of 2 GB DDR3 RAM.

4 GB is plenty for gaming, if you multi task a lot. add another 2 sticks down the road.

how about a video card?
for gaming machines, the most important part is the video card :D

btw, not fond of Ultra brand PSU.

Which version of the TD are you getting? There's like 6 of them.

X6 AMD Processor
Also which X6 CPU? Either way they both are DDR3 (1333) Dual channel processors.

Ripjaws are great sticks.

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM

1 stick 4 Gb DDR3 RAM maybe 8

See above.

What do you have now for a HDD?

The hard drives from my comp i have now, the same case but a new 750 watt power supply

I'd go with a Corsair TX750 Watt. They make very, VERY reliable PSUs. Never go with a cheap quality PSU.

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

the case i have now is the antec 900 gaming case i assume i should keep it?

The Antec 900 is a good case, plenty of room for fans to create smooth and cool air flow. Keep it, It'll work nicely.

Best regards,
Mike
