New Alienware M17x Gaming Laptop- Pinnacle Studio 12 Dropped Frames Help?

I just got a new Alienware Laptop last week. I haven't done anything to it, haven't gotten any virus of any sort. And then the problem happens.

I had Pinnacle Studio 12 on an old 2002 Dell Laptop, it ran fine, no dropped frames, rarely lagged, etc.

But then I installed Studio 12 on this Laptop today and this happens. Right when I start recording it starts to drop tons of frames. I'm talking 100 frames in 10 seconds! This makes absolutely no sense at all, the video during playback would slow, and then speed back up, and then slow down over and over again.

By 3 minutes I lost 7000 frames!

Here are the specs of the Alienware:

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce9000x(Top of the Line)
RAM: 4GB
Hard Drive: 500 GB( I still have 450 GB left over too)
Processor: i7

I don't really know anything else, but it's not bad at all.

Anybody know what's up?

Get the latest drivers directly from NVIDIA.

I'll try that, but it might already have all of the latest drivers.

If it's still out of the box, I would doubt it.
