My Windows XP Desktop Keeps on Glitching

Okay, so in this video you are noticing what my computer looks like whenever I'm online or playing a game for more than about 2 or 3 hours. This happens every time, and has happened for months. I have finally decided to take action on it. When my PC is running, and this happens my icons near my clock on the bottom right part of the screen gets covered up by blue, and so does my clock. The only way i can get it to show up is if i hover my mouse of them.

My documents change there icons and my icons on my desktop also change so a white box with a blue top. In the video they don't do it that time because it is random.

When i would click my start bar it shows my computer, control panel ect. with the icons on the left, that is also covered up. When i hover my mouse over the "my computer" or other ones in the start bar sometimes they turn black.

I hope this helps because this "glitch" or whatever you would want to call it is killing me

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers? Does it do this in Safe Mode?

I have not tried reinstalling my graphics driver, and i don't go into safe mode as much so i don't know about that. I will give the reinstalling graphics driver a try and see if it works.

Can you give me a quick tutorial on reinstalling my graphics driver. There is no reinstall option on the device manager, and i don't want to uninstall it and accidentally lose my graphics driver.

Use Drivers Sweeper from Guru3D. Then go to ATi's website and get the latest driver for your Radeon 2400 for Windows XP.

Yes using Driver Sweeper will uninstall the drivers. This is okay. It will still work. There is no such thing as a repair feature for drivers. There is only install or uninstall.

ATI website doesn't look they have my driver.

When i go to ATI driver download page on ATI's website it gives me some choices of picking out my driver. Mine is the Radeon HD 2400 Pro. So when this page pops up

I start choosing what i have

1 - Desktop Graphics

2 - Radeon HD Series

3 - This part doesn't give me an option for 2400 Pro it just shows the options
Radeon HD 5xxx Series PCIe

Radeon HD 2xxx Series PCIe (i was thinking this, but i am not sure)

Which one would i click on to use, or did i accidentally mess up on 1 and 2?

Here is another question, when i unistall my driver and it ask's me to restart my computer. Once i restart my computer wouldn't it automatically install my driver at bootup?

It's the 2000 Series. It covers 2000-2900 (whatever the versions are)
