External hardrive prob

I have a western digital 1TB external hardrive, it worked for a couple weeks then it dosent show up in my computer anywhere i also tried it on other computer and it still dosent show up it does show up in device manager and it has where i can safely remove it also

any suggestionS?

If it is still under waranty send it back.

If you have data you need to recover, pull it from the enclosure and connected it directly to your computer to see if it is a hd failure or an enclosure failure. (this may void waranty)

*EDIT* fix but i guess somehow it deleted my files i fix it by goin to adminstrative tools>computer managment>Storage>Disk managment>then my hd was there so i like right clicked it and went through some setup then it became RAW then i formated it o.0

So you are connecting the hd to your computer via a sata port and plugging a sata power connector into the drive?

Does it show in disk management?

Start / Run / diskmgmt.msc

All is far from lost. Run Recuva (the best free data recovery program) to see what files you can recover.

Many members here have recoved all of their files from drives that went RAW after they reformated it. In fact if you drive goes raw this is the only way to recover files.
