hard drive password???

hey fellow men and women.....hope someone has a solution.....
my hard drive some how went bad... and in order not to lose the info on it im trying to use it as a secondary....but now it prompts me for a password....i dont ever remember putting one in....any ideas???

im sure when someone has a solution to ur particular problem theyll post it and tell u... but plz dont post the same thing in 2 topics.. a mod will get on ur case if u do that too often

I have a motherboard that does something like that. It password protects the hard drive. What mobo are you using?

It's probably asking for your administrator password. Many people don't set a password, so try just leaving it blank and press enter.

If not, there are ways around the password, but I don't remember off hand. Search the forums for ways to get around passwords in your OS.
