So im 80% sure i might have found a person to sell my computer to. for $1600 :D

So im planning my next build, and here is what i have come up with. i went with the H50 cause its what i have now and its pretty beastly, but i am falling deeper and deeper into this rabbit hole of this hobby and might say efff it and go with a proper water loop for my CPU.

Anyway, here is what i have come up with... what do you think? plus a hard drive and optic drive, just didnt include them cause... i didnt feel like adding them to the list :p and i already have the OS. this is a little bit more than i want to spend on a new computer, so if anyone sees any particular area that i can slim down the cost with out sacrificing performance, lemme know...

Heh, sorry. I can't really help with the WCing stuff, but you've got everything down on the other specs. Though the power supply is probably a bit much - you can get away with less, unless you plan on adding another GPU in future.

And, what are you gonna be using this comp for? I'm assuming gaming :) If you're wanting to fit to a tighter budget, I suggest going for only an HD5870; it'll do you maximum everything for at least six months. You can always get another one in future if you want.

Case-wise with that budget, while the HAF X is nice, at that price I would look into a Lian-Li. They're like the Ferrari/Lamborghini of the case world :)

Seeing as you haven't put hard drive(s) in the list, I say go for a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB as a storage drive, and another, smaller one for the OS. Or, depending on your budget, get a 60GB+ SSD for the OS instead.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

this computer is to destroy any game for the next few years... and dominate any Benchmark. Basically, to have the biggest E-***** possible.

the case, FX card and CPU are set in stone, will not change. so the only place i see i could shave some bills off would be the mother board, ram and power supply...

Go with Newegg for the build, you can pick up the 5970 for cheaper and have a cheaper selection of cases. The RAM looks good. I would suggest the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard over the ASUS as it is only $209 and has the same high quality features (USB3.0, SATA 6gb/s, eSATA, PCIe, etc). I also think it is just an awesome board and performs nicely.

I don't know about water cooling, I don't have a good cooler on my i7 yet (still on stock) and may consider the H50, is it worth it or would a big air cooler work better?

With that setup I may also suggest to save a few bucks somewhere and buy a 3 monitor Eyefinity setup, you'd be putting the 5970 to shame if you didn't, I'm getting my 3 new monitors tomorrow for my 5870 but don't have the DisplayPort adapter yet. I got some Dell monitors (21" 1080p) that were on sale for $140.

oh and im going with Amazon, because i live in california, so i have to pay tax on new egg... if i bought all these parts it would be over $200 in tax alone. id rather burn the money then pay tax...

calc, i have 78cfm fans on my H50 right now, and with my 965 overclocked to 3.8ghz at 78°F ambient temperature, my idle temp is 36°C and absolute max temp using LinkX is 55°C.

im getting two 110cfm fans tomorrow, so we will see how that effect the temperatures.

ill look into that mother board you suggested.im all for the same result with less cash out of my pocket.

Pretty good results, I will probably consider the H50 but after buying monitors I don't think I'll be able to afford it for a while. The Newegg thing makes sense, I'd see what the Gigabyte's price is on Amazon and see if it's worth the swap.

same exact price on amazon, minus tax ;)

amazon FTW for California residents

Thanks calc, you just shaved $90 off my build... do you see any other place i can shave some money off, with out sacrificing performance... how about Ram? and you said my powersupply might be over kill, what would be a good replacement?
