I finished my build last night. It was a stressful process but you folks were very helpful along the way, couldn't have done it without these forums.

Anyway, without further ado, here's the beast:

Alienware Blue Tower Case
AMD Phenom II x4 955
Asus Evo M4A7 Mobo
4GB OZC DDR3
XFX HD5770
Antec 520W PSU
160GB WD 7200 RPM
Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS
Windows 7 x64
22'' LG Flatscreen HDTV

I'm still playing with the display drivers trying to get text to look right, other than that everything is running great. It's fast, runs games better and looks better than PS3.

Some special thanks to a few people who helped way more than expected:
Slaymate, Muffin Man, Patonb, Trotter, MindoverMaster

-If I missed you oops but yeah those guys are awesome.

Game on.

I did a minimal start with the new PSU first, it POSTed fine. Then I built it up in the case and had some issues with it trying to boot from HD and not from DVD so I just made it the Master and that did the trick.

So yes, it was the PSU all along. :) Great call on which one to get Muffin

Boo to no aftermarket hsf. While the stocs fine..... who wants stock ;) Gotta bust out the oerclock baby... Free power!

So glad it booted... Probably would have worked first time had I looked more harder at your old psu the first time round.

Also, I agree with Pat up above me, You've already spent so much, may as well go a little further and splurge on a good cpu cooler and harness all that relatively free power!
