onboard audio FTL!

I have EVGA board.. I think the onboard sounds great.

Oh, I did not realize that Realtek HD audio was used on different boards. I thought just Gigabyte used Realtex. Learned something new today.

I don't care for onboard sound at all. Have you ever used a soundcard?

Dephinitley not an Audiophile. But my new headset is USB. with inline 7.1 sound card.

But I like to have speakers as well for if I don't wanna wear my headset.. (listening to music. etc.)

I really like the BIG BANG series by msi. They come with a sound card as well. If I were to re build my system I would go with a Big Bang mobo. .

P.S. The issue seems to be solved. We will see here in the next few days I guess.

Pretty much everything these days has Realtek HD Audio. My laptop and netbook both have it, my old desktop and my server both have Realtec AC97 audio (older than the HD audio standard), my new desktop has Realtek as well. Overall they make pretty good sound chips for integrated. They also are a large manufacturer of Ethernet cards, you probably connect through a Realtek Ethernet controller (though Intel and Broadcom are popular as well).
