just because they are combo'ed together doesn't meant they'll work.
i also use to think that if newegg put parts together in a combo, they must be compatible. but i remember i found a combo before with a x3 720 and some p45 mobo, which = incompatible obviously. i remember i even posted it on the hot deals thread just to see what you guys thought. (found the post, but link has long expired http://www.techist.com/forums/f40/h...at-deals-here-179682/index90.html#post1678225)

unless you're working on 2 different builds, theres no way you'll be able to use ddr2 ram in an lga1156 build.
anyway back to my point, x4 940 won't work in am3 mobo.
