I've spent the last couple of hours trying to get my 1TB Simple Tech External HD to work. I've had it for less than a year, so I believe it's under warranty, but I have 500 GB on it that I don't want to lose by sending it in to the company. The HD is formatted FAT32.
My computer is a HP DV1000 - running XP (all service packs are up to date). It's got an Intel Pentium Processor 1.86 GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM. (Are there any additional specs I should mention?).
I have tried the hard drive on my MacBook Pro and my 360 in hopes that it might be my computer, but none of the devices recognized it. I also tried switching the cords to no avail.
I does not appear in device manager. I haven't found much advice on devices not appearing in device manager, so if anyone could help that'd be great. Tech support is closed all weekend so I can't contact them, not that they'd be much help anyways.
