Which computer is a better build for its price?

I have a $1200 limit and I was wondering what's the best gaming rig I could build for that amount. These are two builds I've come up with.

I would go with the i7, it has better performance than the Phenom X6 even if it is only quad core. I would also recommend an ATi Radeon HD 5870 instead of the GTX470, the 5870 generally gets significantly better performance for the same price.
