Thanks, guys. I'll watch Oreo's thread. I'd kinda like to go with Nvidia because CS5 smiles on it, esp with CUDA.

But what about the other parts and pieces? See any problems there like with the CPU or Ram? And will the Zalman I have do the job or do I need something bigger?

BTW, I didn't get email notification that someone answered my post.

CS5 support for CUDA is limited to Premiere and a tiny handful of cards which do not include the GTX 470.

Aside from Premiere no other programs in the suite use CUDA at all.

Took the offered advice, and installed a Sata DVD drive so that the 8800gt now fits on the bottom pciex8 slot. This has reduced temps, the 8800 has dropped about 8 degrees, and the 470 also dropped 6 or 7 degrees.

This is one of the factors I missed in choosing a mobo. Almost always forum posts suggest components for cost and stability, whereas layout is super important. I won't make this mistake next time, shouldn't have overlooked it at all.

Thanks to all your help, my machine is running great.
