Hey there, thanks for everyone for your help. Im looking forward on building this pc for heavy 3d / particles / composition work so i want as much RAM as possible with a fast CPU for rendering. I will want to overclock it so let me know if i need anything else..

Hey how did you get the Gigabyte board for that cheap??? I got your same board for 299 off Newegg also??? Do you have some kind of promo code? Your set up looks good, I would possibly also get a second GPU and run em in crossfire configuration since your doing video rendering. Also if your getting stuff off camcorders and he likes get a drive or card with fire wire in it for faster transfer rates.

and doesnt it have a firewire integrated...? i thought so...

that's the one I bought. And yea it does come with firewire your motherboard lolzz. Yea do get 2 of those GPU's and run em in crossfire configuration, guaranteed performance boost. No probs, I like to help out wherever I can

I'm a drafter and 3D modeler. why use a gaming card if your doing 3D & rendering?? with the Quattro cards so cheap these days. and have performance drivers for app's like autocad , 3D max , photoshop , maya and so many more and are made for 3D & rendering

Yeah don't get a 9800, old and weak card. I don't know anything about quadro and workstation cards, I know slaymate does house stuff so he'd probably know.
