Periodic drops in graphics performance for multiple games

I'm unsure of the room temperature but the heater isn't on at all, it feels like average temp.

Also, I was browsing around and someone said you can use rivatuner to modify fan speed and stuff to help cooling. Anyone know anything about that and/or how to do it?

Yup, definately a gpu heat issue. Throttle temp is 110C.

I'm not sure if rivatuner will help, I use evga precision on my 9600m gt and I have no fan control at all.

HOWEVER, at 110 you might as well try everything. I use my laptop with the backend lifted off the table, gives a nice typing angle, and allows good airflow.

As was mentioned, might have vto dissassemble and vrepaste the gpu heat sink.

Get a "cooling dock", and see if that helps with the temperatures. Don't go messing around inside the computer. If you have to send it in for warranty purposes, they may notice that, and decline you of any/all fixes.

Don't get a really cheap one that has barely any airflow. That kind of defeats the purpose.

Try EVGA Precision if its an Nvidia card but it only works with specific models and its unlikely it will work on older ones, but if it does work its a good program.

^EVGA precision didn't work on my 9600m gt fan... everything but the fan.
