Thanks for the help Slay, but I'm going to go ahead and move up to the 9xx series on or before next month, as that will put my cpu's ability in line with my ambition and provide me with a hexacore+ upgrade path.

I guess I'll still need a chipset and mosfet waterblock though. It's such a shame, as this MSI board is one of the best that I've ever seen in form/features (I really do adore it), yet it's paired to a power hungry socket type. At least I found MY perfect case/PSU/liquid cooling starter kit to make the transplant more fulfilling. Never the less, I have been recording all voltages and frequencies, and I intend to make someone's oc experience with the 860 an easier struggle. As well, I will be selling my current cpu/mobo. Any suggestions? The last upgrade will be some assorted fittings and another rad to stack, paired with the chipset, mosfet, and cpu blocks, it should be overkill.
 
I would go for the i7 920 while it's still available. If you're just wanting a 930 then I have one for sale, with or without a heatsink, that OC's as good or better than most of the ones I've seen. It's got the top LinX score here (until Soul get's his 980).

I would get the OCZ Golds over the Patriot. The OCZ have faster timings and there less expensive.

Those waterblocks you have listed are for a specific Asus mobo design and while they "MAY" work with a couple of other models of Asus mobo's they probably won't work with just any mobo from other manufacturers.

That's one of the problems with watercooling and why I don't watercool. You spend all kinds of money on specific waterblocks and then they won't work with new hardware purchases. So then you have to buy new blocks and selling your old stuff is hard because you have to find someone with specific hardware to buy it.
 
I used EK's cooling configurator to find the waterblocks for my specific board, then used their item number on frozen cpu. As for the two odd mosfets out, I'm confident that mosfet heat-spreaders with thermal tape will be fine. Thanks for the advice, I changed the ram...so good call.

I have 6x 69.8 cfm 120mm fans right now. I also plan to implement 3 technofront airbox 120s to decrease the effect of the dead-zone at the centers of the fans. Is one rad enough to cool all that? Also should I add a res between the chipset block and the GPUs? When I did this diagram, it was with the assumption that chipsets generally run cooler than GPUs. Also this loop is for an Asus P6X58D mobo. As you know, the case I'm using (raven rv01) encourages rads on the outside of the case, as the inside of the chasis is relatively unique(mobo mounts horizontally/GPUs vertically), and the top is a no-go, so my options on mounting are limited....Where are my manners? Nice to see you too Burn... :p
 
I would use 3 extra fans over 3 shrouds, especially with a stacked rad setup.

And yes definitely need 2 rads for all that
 
My biggest issue right now is finding double ended bolts for the mid-fans between the rads. I know that 6/32 is the size, but double ended (without heads)? I would imagine that they have a name as well as a hexagonal or octagonal grip in the middle for tightening.

Or is there a triple 120mm equivalent to two?
 
You could use allen key screws.

There is the TFC Monsta, but I don't know how well that performs compared to 2 360mm rads. Probably worse
