i have a few hundred left in my budget yet, any ideas on upgrades or changes?
 
i agree, get an i5 750 instead.

there's a combo with it and a good mobo

you might have some leftover money to burn, but don't waste it on an "xxx" version card. you can get that regular version and easily OC it yourself while saving a few bucks.

get a caviar black drive instead of the green.

850w psu is complete overkill. you could get this combo with 5770 that includes a good 650w psu that will suit you well.
