networking through a desktop to a laptop

OK, please understand I am not real bright about this. What I want to do is connect my laptop to the net using a Sprint Connection Card. Then connect my Dell dimension 4600 TO the laptop, thus gaining Internet access. All of this is because I cannot get the Desktop unit to accept the Sprint Connection Card. I found a PCMCIA to PCI adapter but while it works with other PC cards it cannot seem to get cozy with the Sprint Card. Thanks or any help with this. Trying to set this up in my RV for several months on the road. PG

how do you plan on connecting the two pcs? wired or wireless?

what os's? 98 2k xp?

was gonna run an Ethernet cable between the two. Am using a Sprint Connection card for access to the Enhanced PCS network. Speed is about 144K. Not broadband. don't think I can push it thru a router. Both machines have XP home
