upgrade dvd roms

Hello. I have a computer and wants to upgrade. Here are my specs right now:

Windows: Microsoft windows xp home edition version 2002 service pack 3.
Processor: Intel core 2 Duo Cpu E8400 @300 GHZ
3.00 Ghz
3.00 GB of RAM
Video card: Nvidia Geforce 8800 Gts 512 MB
DVD-Rom: Lite-on DVD rw LH- 20A15.
Motherboard: Asus P5k-e

The dvd rom I have right now is a dvd burner. When I tried to play crysis the burner doesn't like the game. So I was wondering if I can change it back to my old dvd rom. I think this one can run crysis, but I'm not sure about this dvd rom. Can someone please check for me? Here are the model number and the s/n number:

S/N: 229213002509
Model: LTD-163D.

I would try a firmware update for your current drive first.

Lite-on doesn't have a LH-20A15, but they do have a LH-20A1S. Double check your model number before downloading and installing the firmware update. Here's the download link: Link

The file should be an EXE. Download it, make sure your DVD burner is empty, and then run the file. Once it has updated, try Crysis again.
