what is the .net 1.1 framework?

Hmmmm...not sure....I had to download it to use a few IDE's for programming. I think its needed for Visual Basic...not sure though...anybody?
 
its the 'new' thing. I'm kind of surprised that nortons didn't include its needed dll's in its install log, but who knows. Not all apps have to be written in .net. It just depends on the developement team. Thing is, usually when you write a program you then compile it, and after that you package it. What this does is create an executable install package the includes any code you have as well as any .dll needed when the API is being called in the code.
 
I think it has something to do with how icons and windows are displayed on your screen. If i'm not mistaken, you need it to run SphereXP, which basically re-vamps your screen to look like your in a sphere. It's pretty cool but kind of sketchy at some points.
 
.net Framework is a package of runtimes and classes required to run applications based on the .net platform.
