hi peeps

my laptop keyboard had some keys that would not work. i was told to buy a new keyboard and i did.

REplaced it this morning, however, the same key are not working. the same keys that worked before are still working

why? Whats the problem? any ideas?

thanks in advance

well no chipset drivers were installed as the same keys did not work, so i didnt think that was a problem...

Yes i have tried a USB keyboard and that works fine.

Off the top of my head the following keys are not working:

1,3,q,e,a,d,c

so of the special keys like shift, ctrl not sure but that are the main ones

any ideas?

chipset drivers should include your keyboard driver. As to if it will work, I don't know. It might be a problem with the cable itself.

used the CD that i got with laptop for the chipset drivers, installed them and still not working...

well its a new keypad so i am presuming that the cable should be fine.

any other ideas

The connector on the motherboard could be damaged, that cable connects into the top of the MB - make sure that is secure. If it is and you're positive this keyboard is good then the MB could be the issue.
