anyone any more input?.

will i have problems watercooliong both cards? they come ready with blocks, but will it fit fine on a motherboard?
 
those video cards are pci-express so they'll work on any motherboard that has that slot, like the one hefe mentioned for example.

Whether or not those cards are compatible with your watercooling setup i don't really know. I'm not sure how much gpu waterblocks cost, but you're paying a nice premium for those cards. $515 for a $400 card just for the waterblock. How much do they cost on their own?
 
If you can get your hands on one, I would highly recommend getting the 5970 over two 5870s. That will be some $150-200 cheaper at the same performance and you can toss another 5970 in there down the road for a crazy quad xfire setup.... just saying since you are looking to spend $2,500
