I have an e-machines computer with windows xp, 2 gigs of ram. After my computer has been shut down for awhile I'm having a problem. When I first turn on the computer my display flickers so badly I feel as though the computer is going to go out. After a few minutes it clears up. It also flickers occasionally while I am using the computer. I've also noticed that my time is frequently incorrect. LIke tonight I came home from work at 10:30 but the time on my computer said it was 7:12 PM. Anybody know what the problem might be or if the two may be in any way related.
Thank You for your help

Are you using a CRT monitor? They do that from time to time. If it has a degauss button, push it. That may fix it.

Your time being off may be do to your BIOS battery failing. replace the large watch battery on your motherboard.

No I have a 2 year old Samsung 22 inch Flat Panel Monitor .

Will I lose anything during the time I replace the battery? Any settings or anything for the bios.
Thanks Whitedove
