I had ME on this comp for a couple of years. I kept freezing all the time so I put some extra fans in it but it didn't help very much. I had to swap the PCI cards every day to be able to work at least a few minutes without freesing. Once I installed 98SE it stopped freezing. It still crashed sometimes but that's normal with 98SE. Once I installed 2k Pro and XP Pro everything worked, it never freezes or crashes. No more bluescreens also.

for me windows XP pro is really a good option.
next, Win ME and Win 2000 is my second choices

however, now i am looking forward to Windows Longhorn, hopefully can see some improvements :)

winME is the worst ever made..
id go with xp pro, xp home, 2k
u need some others up there like server 2k3, linux also

I'm for Win2k. I find it less bloated then XP, yet equal in stability and such. It seems 'lighter' and less bogged down. But comparing Windows to other OSes, Even 2k topples down.

But the TRUE best edition of Windows is Windows RG ;)...
