just before that happened service pack 3 of windows xp was running a process

Bug Check 0x7E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

looks like a driver issue. Make sure all of your drivers are up to date.

you can also uninstall live messenger to see if that stops the issue then dl the newest version.

nah no hope dint work =/ updated all drivers, but i did come across a strange error yesterday while trying to use disc cleanup, it said that some windows files wer corrupt and that i needed to insert the windows disc to fix the problem, im starting to think more along the lines of virus then anything else, going to get a windows 7 cd and try formating computer and installing the windows 7, see if that fixes it, if not then im gonna send off the computer to get professionaly looked at. thanks for your help everyone

Probably just a registry corruption. A repair install should fix this.

ye done a scan on registry and found nearly 600 errors in registry gonna see if i can get it repaired and leave pc on overnight see if it does it again, if it does ill format the computer, already backed up a couple of files ready to format, thanks

installed windows 7 computer was on all night and no restarting, so problem solved, seems like windows was corrupted
