I have a ST780WL router and an appropriate 6.2 CD

No problems in XP 32 bit, but I cannot find a 64 bit usb driver for use in 64 bit Windoes 7 (or Vista Ultimate 64 bit)

Can't get help from Thomson or Speedtouch

You do not need drivers for your router. As long as you have a working network card or onboard it just needs to be set to obtain ip automatically, be connected to a port on the router and you are good to go.
