This is my first build and will be used to play games (such as Team Fortress 2, maybe some WoW) and will also be used a lot in Photoshop, Illustrator etc..

So I am just wondering how this will perform, is it all compatible, is there anything I should switch for a different part, do I need anything else, etc..

Motherboard:
ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
Newegg.com - ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

CPU:
Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Memory:
6GB (3 x 2GB)
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ - Desktop Memory

Hard Drive:
HITACHI Deskstar HD31000 IDK/7K (0S00163) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Newegg.com - HITACHI Deskstar HD31000 IDK/7K (0S00163) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Retail

Video Card:

Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-N959-TR GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

OS:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Case+Power Supply+Fans:
RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply
Newegg.com - RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply - Computer Cases

CD/DVD Burner:
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner - Bulk - CD / DVD Burners

The burner is all you need to play games right?

what is your budget for this build? is it including win7? monitor, keyboard and mouse?

as it is right now, the cpu is a good choice. you could get a less expensive mobo and preferably you'd want to get ram in sets of 2 to make use of dual channel; the set you picked would be better suited for a 1366/core i7 build.

not sure how good hitachi hdds are, maybe switch to a western digital, seagate or samsung.

the gfx card is also pretty weak.

you can get that case if you'd like it, but i would not use the psu that comes with it. buy a separate psu from a better known brand.

Ok so for the mobo would this work:
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

And memory, would it effect how the build ran (a lot) if I went with these instead:
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM - Desktop Memory

I could switch HDD to this:
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

GFX card to this:
Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N973-TR GeForce 9800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
or
Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

I only like the case because of the PS so I could get this case:
Newegg.com - Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
or
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases

preferably the first

And for the PS I could get:
Newegg.com - Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX12V V2.2 Intel Core i7 Compliant Dual 80mm Fans Full Cable Sleevings Power Supply - Power Supplies
or
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Elite 460 RS-460-PSAR-J3 460W ATX12V V2.31 Power Supply - Power Supplies

Do these look good?

If you tell us your full budget and intended use of this computer we may be able to come up with something better for your needs.

Anyways, those video cards aren't great. I would go with either one of these:
Newegg.com - XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.com - XFX HD-577X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

As for power supply, i wouldn't recommend either of those, get something like this:
Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts Green EA-500D Green 500W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7 - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced 550250 580W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply - Power Supplies

both of those cases look good, pick the one you like best. Everything else looks compatible. You're getting the i5 750 right? If so, then its all good.

Thanks guys, sorry for not including the price, etc.. I didn't want to double post :/

Well, I would like to keep the price under $1000 if possible and I will be using it for some gaming like Team Fortress 2, maybe some WoW. And also a lot of graphic design, photoshop, illustrator, etc..

I think I'll go with this GFX card:
Newegg.com - XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

And the combo looks great! And yup I'm getting the i5-750.

But the 1 review the PS has is bad, so shouldn't I go for a different one?

Well, that newegg reviewer simply said that it wouldn't work with his battery backup, that doesn't mean its a bad PSU. Antec makes high quality PSUs so you shouldn't worry about it.

Here's an article on the antec earthwatts 500watt, its not the "green" version however, but i presume performance/quality will be the same. It's apparently made by seasonic (another excellent brand).

Ok, cool.

Also, do you think it is worth to buy a new keyboard and speakers? My speakers are prob. from around 2000 (lol) and my keyboard is the generic Dell one.

My monitor is already taking care of, 26" Hannspree HDMI for my computer(s)/Xbox.

i wouldn't pay too much attention to newegg reviews. i mean, if there is a trend of bad reviews due to a similar problem, then maybe i would concern myself. but that was just one review, and the person even says it wasn't even that model (so why did he bother...). i highly doubt you will have any problems with the antec, they are a good brand.

if you do end up getting that case/psu combo, you will need a power cable for that particular psu because it's supposed to promote "green"-ness by you reusing the power cable from your last psu.
Newegg.com - Link Depot 6 ft. Computer AC powe cable Model POW-6 - Cables

if you have another psu, you can just reuse it's power cable. im just giving you a heads up incase you order all these parts and find that the psu did not come with a power cable.

Since I don't really want to deal with ordering a whole new cable, would it make more sense to just get the case and this PS by themselves:

Newegg.com - OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7 - Power Supplies

Ok, I'll remember to get that cord, would this combo be good?

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

It includes the i5-750, the motherboard I was looking at, and a GFX card (idk how good it is).

Should I go with this combo for the i5:

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

It has the CPU and mobo I was looking at, so is that GFX card worth the combo?

Also, would it be justifiable to get a i7? I didn't really want to spend an extra $100 on it but how would the price v.s. performance be?

Keep in mind I want this under $1000..
