Hello everyone, I have a Gateway M1615 laptop that I bought 2-3 years ago. And lately it feels like I can't run any new decent games on it. I'm thinking about upgrading it or maybe just save up to buy a new one. But if I go for an upgrade, I don't know how I should go about it. Could I go for more RAM? Should I replace my video card? Or maybe do both? Also, would it be cheaper and worth it to go to the hassle of upgrading it rather than buy a new one?

Here are my laptops specs:

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only easy upgrade you can do is ram which will not help much.
Cannot put a new gpu in.
You can put a new cpu in but it is a real pain and will not benefit you much.

save your cash for a new machine.

Thanks for the response Hefemeister.

So I guess there is no saving this laptop and its truly been outdated? Will a RAM upgrade have a noticeable change? Or would it still run pretty much the same? I was told my graphics card is really bad.

Whenever I play games like Sims 2 or 3, the fps runs so slow when there are a lot of loaded animated objects in the game's surroundings.

Thanks again and I appreciate the help!

Assuming a 32bit OS you could only add one more gb of ram and for gaming it would not make much of a difference if any.

A gpu upgrade is what you need and it is not possible with your laptop.

For general use it is still a great machine just not for newer games.
