I would spend a little more money, and upgrade to a 5xxx series card. While it's a little more than you wanted to spend, it seems like you don't upgrade all that much (at least that computer), and this would kind of keep you covered for a little while.

I can personally attest to the HD4850's awesome price to performance ratio. It's a great card for the price and the HD4890 still holds it's own on the gpu front.
