Thoughts on my new idea for first build

Well originally I was going to build a amd based cpu but that doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore.

So I was looking around I found that for a little more $$$ I could get an i7.

Here's what I was thinking:

Case:

And than I would go pick up an i7 from microcenter for $200.

Looks good to me. Are you planning on doing crossfire in the future? If you aren't you could save a little by downgrading the PSU to a 650W, which would be plenty for a single 5870, and getting a GA-X58A-UD3R for a mobo. Other than that everything looks good.

It's got to be the i7 920. Microcenter has it for such a cheap price.

I do plan on crossfiring in the future. That motherboard looks nice and it's cheaper... Should I go with it over the one I had selected?

yea, that one looks good. real good price for what you get also, so id say yea pick that one up.
