Ok I was shooting for a sub 750 dollar system. I will list the system parts and see if any of you smart folks can improve upon them at all. Also, I think I did my homework decently. This is my first system build and I just want to know if everything is compatible together. I will be mainly gaming on this system and was trying to future proof it a bit by going with the crossfire motherboard am3 and CPU.So when I get some money or some tax returns I can upgrade to maybe the new radeon 5830's that are supposed to come out x2 or xw 5850 over the single 5770 ill have that will run games decently on a 1680x monitor. Thanks :)

here is the newer revision, but no combo with ram

C3 overclocks higher, draws less power, runs cooler

It'd be nice if the gains were significant from C2 to C3, but the reviews I've read don't look that promising...
C3 was a little over hyped. :\
There really is little if any overclocking gain.
And in many synthetic benchmarks C2 outperforms C3... :\ Go figure :\

The power consumption was improved a good amount though.
They managed to shave like 20-40 watts off load and idle.

So the question is, should I buy the c3 new version or stick with c2 im not going to be overclocking super super hard at all.And im saying that because im on a bit of a budget. What is your guys opinion. And does the overall setup I posted look good?

have you read any 5770 crossfire reviews? if you buy a 5770 now and crossfire another later, youll definitely be able to run games on more than just decent settings, considering the res. of your monitor.

so with something like this
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

totals $604 + shipping.

includes faster ram, x4 955 (combo includes the c3 stepping so why not?), a crossfire capable mobo, and a 5770 with a psu that would handle a second later on.

btw, i didnt include a hdd or optical drive because you didnt list one in your post. so do you already have those or do you need those too?

I dont have HDD or optical drive yet. Kind of confusd at your post muffin man but then again im a total tech newbie!

Ok well, with adding some of those parts that you listed the price came to about 650.Do you thik I should run games at 1680x with good settings with the memory/gpu and proc all oc'd and maybe another 5770 in future or a higher end card?
