Weird HDD problem

For some reason when I leave my pc running, I will randomly hear the sound of my hard drive restarting, the same noise as when I turn my pc on. I also hear my ipod disconnect. Why does it do this? My pc never restarts though, its always on at the same point it was. Also, my keyboard light will be off because I turn it off, but when all of this happens the keyboard also restarts in a way and lights back up. Any reason why all of this is happening? is this normal? Thank TF

Sounds like a driver issue dealing with hibernation/stand by
Maybe some sort of power saver mode?
Go update all your drivers.
If that doesn't work, try rolling back any drivers that have to do with stand by/hibernation/power saving

hmmm where should I even start with drivers? Motherboard is all up to date, so is my BIOS. I'm also using windows 7 if that helps.
