Yeah sorry,

I couldnt ever find a solution to the keying problem so I got her to talk to someone at dell and give them the sob story of a two day old laptop busted. She's sending it back to hopefully get it fixed free.

But thanks anyway guys. We cant win then all.

Ah cool, sorry couldn't help but as you say we can't win them all . Just was checking up on you .

If you ever run into this problem again, my ASUS EeePC has the hotkey to switch between monitors, only it's fn + F5, fn + F6 opens task manager. Trotter may be right about the fn + F6, too. Make sure you check the keyboard markings to see what yours is.
