Hd formatting

u need a disc...I would wait untile u have a XP disk, formatting with the disc will be a lot easier

oh so its easyer if i have an xp disk, so it would automattically formatt it?

an like i was saying its running on 98 would it work if i put an xp disk when its running on 98?

u need to boot with the XP disc. U need to set the Cd-rom drive as primary boot device in your BIOS first. Then boot your computer and it will ask your to install XP, then it will ask u where u want to install XP. Choose format....its very easy

no u can't format with the XP disc while running 98, u can only format when booting from the disc

wait isnt it when u formatt a hd it deletes everything

and the only way to do that is by using a windows disk, whatever windows your running on

no u can also use programs like partitionmagic or a windows98 bootfloppy...but I think its better to wait until u have a XP disc...it much easier. As far as I know widows 2000 discs are not bootable, so u still need a floppydrive to install 2000
