I can't see why not, but with the way technology is changing, I am a bit behind, especially considering I have been an AMD owner for the last 10 years.

I'm looking at either DDR3 1600 or DDR3 2000 and I seen some that say "Designed for Intel P55 Core i5 and i7 Mobos"

Would these sticks of RAM work equally well on X58 mobos?

More specifically, I am looking at this RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231282
(Get 4GB worth for now)

instead of this one:

(6GB)

Whatcha guys think?

I'm planning on getting this mobo:

"Designed for Intel P55 Core i5 and i7 Mobos" <--- marketing :)

Would these sticks of RAM work equally well on X58 mobos? <---- yes

While the G.Skill will work. It won't work to increase performance, it will actuallly slow the system down from it's potential. In order to utilize the triple channel memory controller fully you need to populate 3 memory slots as in 3GB (3x1GB), 6gb(3x2GB) or 12GB(6x2GB).

If your planning on overclocking I recommend getting the OCZ memory you have linked :D

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know Slay, I guess the OCZ it is. This computer building seems like a whole new game nowadays. I have never understood overclocking memory though, so that I probably will not touch.

partially agree with slay on this one, while dual channel is indeed slower than triple channel

the difference is... well not as much as many imagined it to be

to sum it up... I'd get the triple channel too :D
but the tridents just looks so awesome

Would it be a better investment to get the 4GB of Trident DDR3 2000 for now? ... for then down the road I'd plan on getting another 2x2GB sticks.

How does Triple Channel work with 4 sticks or RAM?

Word.

I assume it would be a better initial investment to get the 2x2GB DDR3 2000 (What I can afford) and then down the line add another 2GB DDR3 2000 stick instead of going with DDR3 1600 right off the bat?
