Hi guys, i'm planning to buy and build a pc from scratch and i also need a new monitor and an OS(win7). Please keep in mind that I'm new to computers and I still have a lot to learn. I also want my computer to be upgradable as in replaceable gfx card and I need wireless internet for this pc. I want this pc to be able handle the latest games at medium settings at the very least as I won't be building another one a few years down the road.

If anyone has any suggestions about how i can lower the cost of my pc build, please leave your input here. This comes to roughly about $1200 CAD and I want to lower it or if you have a better build, i wouldn't mind throwing out a hundred more bucks but initially I thought I would be spending 900-1000 at most :p. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I already have a keyboard and mouse :D.

total $1,060. not really sure how much shipping would be, but it says free shipping on orders over $300.

i did put a cpu thats a bit slower, but the gfx card i included is much more powerful and should last you a good while for gaming more than a 5770.

if youre willing to spend a little more, you could stick with the intel, just switch the the cpu and mobo to these. everything else can stay the same.

Gigabyte P55M-UD2 mATX LGA1156 P55 DDR3 2PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 RAID Sound GLAN Motherboard - DirectCanada

also, i had not included a wireless adapter in the build i posted. i dont know much about networking components but i really cannot see why you would need to pay $50 for just a network card.

i think something like this should work well enough

After reading both of your inputs, I decided to change it up a bit.

Here's what I went with:

mobo: Gigabyte P55A-UD4P ATX LGA1156 P55 DDR3 2PCI-E RAID GBLAN CrossFireX SLI USB3.0 SATA3 Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i5 750 Quad Core Processor Lynnfield LGA1156 2.66GHZ 8MB Cache Retail Box

GFX card: XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition 765MHZ 1GB GDDR5 4.5GHZ 2XDVI HDMI Display Port PCI-E Video Card

RAM: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Core i5 1.5V Memory Kit

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7200RPM 32MB Dual Proc SATA 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM 5YR MFR Warranty

PSU: Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan

Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S223C 22X DVD Writer SATA Black OEM

Monitor: BenQ E2420HD 24IN 16:9 Widescreen Black LCD Monitor 2MS 50000:1 1920X1080 2XHDMI DVI

OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Case: Antec Three Hundred Mini Tower Gaming Case 300 ATX 3X5.25 6X3.5INT No PS Front USB & Audio (This case and the Antec 200 mid tower case which you both mentioned cost the same and I went for the 300 becaused it looked alot nicer to me XD)

This actually came close to $1700 and I didn't really want to make it any other changes so I'm not really bummed out about spending alot more considering with the motherboard i've picked out, i've open up room for future improvements. But I do have one concern tho - Will everything fit in the tower case nicely?

Oh, I also have a couple of questions: Is there anything else that i might need for this setup? will this setup work well for long hours of gaming and it won't overheat during the summertime lol?

Thanks for all the help and I appreciate your inputs, so if anyone else has any opinions about my build, please do tell me.

nah it wont overheat as long as your not overclocking, which your not. Ad yes everything will fit fine into that case, a bit hefty for 1700 though...
