Problems with sleep mode

Hey all,

I'm having problems with sleep mode on my p.c. Every time I let my p.c. sit for more than 15 minutes it goes into sleep mode and when i go to turn it back on it starts up then freezes and locks up. The only way to remedy this is to hold down the power button. I have an Asus gaming pc that I bought from best buy. Its got a gtx 260 video card, 11 GB of ram, and 1 TB hard drive, and the processer is an Intel® Core™ i7. I just upgraded it to windows 7 as well. Is it the operating system, a cooling problem, or what. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many i7 boards had issues with sleep mode which was solved with a bios update.

run cpuz to find out which mb you have and flash it to the newest bios.

i think hefe is correct.

Can someone tell me how to flash my mb to the newest bios, im kinda lost on that one. thank you in advance for your help.

What mb model do you have? You will use the asus easy flash2 to accomplish this task.
Here are instructions for an older asus board but it is very similar to what I have to do on my p6t D V2.
