i would stick to the xfx; double-lifetime warranty.

also, is he planning to use the ssd as his only drive? i would keep the ssd for OS/programs and buy a separate hdd for data storage.
(depending on how much space he'll need)

Double-lifetime? Sounds good.

I forgot to mention that he bought 2x 1.5TB internal drives and has a few 500GB externals, so he's covered there. I was already planning to install the OS and programs on the SSD.
