such a good deal on this stuff. i didnt hesitate to purchase them. I cant wait to finally get a 64bit system!!

my current system: amd athlon 3200+, 1gb pc2700, 2x160 8mb cache, ati 9600se(yuck)

dude u just got f*cked i think. u need to havwe registered ram for the 940 socket.. tahts y u need to get the 939... You can read more bout this on tomshardware.com

That and $157 for a gb kit of corsair isn't any cheaper deal than I've seen. My kingston value ram was $77 for a 512 stick....if I got another that's only $154 total paid for the same thing. But yeah I also agree about the whole socket 939. I would definitely choose that over 940. The fact that AMD will continue to update the socket 939 line is all the info I need

hope it works out good. but since u just bought it, u can send them back. all big companies have their policy, if ur not satisfied in 30 days, u can send it back. most big companies do that. In ur place, i would get a 939 socket, with a abit av8 3rd eye mobo. with 1 gb of xms ram, not value ram.
