Last I checked, Seagate was a very reputable company.

Is this still true?

My 2nd Seagate SATA drive failed in less than 1 year.

<_<

I'm thinking I'll RMA this, NewEgg a new WD drive, and let the new Seagate that comes in under warranty sit on the shelf...

I'm running a Seagate right now, and haven't had issues with it. 2+ years and counting. My netbook has a Seagate in it too, and have yet to have problems with it. Seagate and WD are usually the brands I buy when looking for a new drive.

I've had two seagate HDD's fail on me.. On my second WD Drive in about a year now with no problems on either one.

---- make that five.. dual 80g's that ran a RAID 0 for a while, one in my friend's computer (my recommendation), another in another friend's computer and a 500g storage in mine now.. :D

I will say this. They were -extremely- friendly over the phone. It was just a little discouraging to have 2 drives bomb on you in just under a year.

Can I just say how happy I am that I do nightly backups on my data? :)
