I'll start off by saying im not good at this computer stuff..

basically my system has an Asus Motherboard (dont know which one exactly)
its a amd anthlon 64 x2 dual core 3800+ and 3072 mb ram.
but there is 2 pci-x16 slots i do know that.

My current video card is a radion 1800x (time for a serious upgrade) its on the fritz now , im getting blue screen errors and random restarts with the message (Thread caught in device driver) and its so bad now that i cant play any video game at all.

so heres the problem. I just now recently lost my 550watt power supply , during transporting my computer, the powersupply stoped working. i think my computer might of tipped over or something. Anyways. i bought a new 500 watt power supply just a cheap 36$ one. and like an idiot. i didn't check the 6slot pci-x power connectors. This one only has 1 . Which is fine for my crapy video card. But all the video cards im looking up say they require 2x 6 slot connectors. And dont list a power watage. So im flat out worried if my power supply is even going to be able to handle it.

basically i need help finding a video card thats better than my Radeon 1800X but it has to be one that can run on a 500 watt power supply with 1 6slot connector..

if i have to buy a new power supply could you help me find one also. my budget is limited , i dont think i can spend more than 220$ total .

which video cards have you been looking at.
my visiontek 4850 only needs one 6pin
they do make adapters for the power supply if you do need two 6pin.
look at graphic cards at newegg. their specs usually include power supply needs
