Ok, I'll start out with stating that I know this isn't a practical idea.

I was presented with a challenge to take 4 USB devices on a 4 port hub, and turn them into a single drive letter in XP.

The route I'm taking is trying to make them RAID 0

So far, I have managed to hack a hitachi fixed disk driver so that the USB drives no longer appear to be removable. However, the convert to dynamic disk is greyed out and Diskpart gives me an error when trying to convert it that way.

I also tried looking for some virtual raid software, but didn't come up with anything worthwhile.

Any ideas?

I recieved a suggestion to set it up in a vmware environment in linux and share it with the host OS. I'll try this later today and post the results.

well, yes. I would assume that nobody posting meant nobody knew. I was hoping that others in a tech forum would find the challenge as interesting as I did and be trying their own experiments. I didn't want to repeat efforts that already proved fruitless if that was the case and was asking for any progress if anyone had tried anything.
