Hey all,
I was thinking of buying this machine:
Acer Aspire 6930G Laptop LX.AUU0X.273 - BuyItDirect
But I'd like the peace of mind in knowing I'll be able to take advantage of USB 3.0 when it catches on.
Does anybody know where I'd stand with this. Could I use an expansion card such as this:
Buffalo USB 3.0 Express Card | Geeky Gadgets
Of course an internal soloution would be far nicer, but I don't want to wait until they're readily available, and also I'm on a budget.
Is there (or will there be) a piece of kit that would allow me to add an internal port soloution? Maybe replace 1 or 2 of the USB 2.0 ports?
Does the motherboard need to be of a certain caliber to handle usb 3.0 (either via card or internal port)?
In short, will I need a new machine to handle USB 3.0 in a couple of years, or can I soup this one up?
Also, any opinions on the machine itself? Good deal or not?
£450 is around $730
